MIGHTY ARROW BRIGHTENS MY SUNDAY
MARCH 17, 2008
What can make a day with your fantasy baseball draft better? Two fantasy baseball drafts. What’s even better than that? Discovering that my favorite brewery (New Belgium - the makers of Fat Tire) have branched out into my favorite beer style (Pale Ale). It’s called “Mighty Arrow Pale Ale“, after the long time brewery dog. At this time it’s only available in the New Belgium “Folly Pack” along with Fat Tire, Mothership Wit (an organic wheat beer) and 1554.
I was a little surprised by the flavor profile of the beer. It is very subtle. Pale Ale’s are typically very hoppy and have a lot of floral and citrus notes. Mighty Arrow had some of that, but it want overpowering. That is something that I appreciate about the folks over at New Belgium, they make very drinkable beers. I have yet to sample one of their brews that is disagreeable. I definitely have my favorites, but I’d be happy to drink any New Belgium beer put in my glass.
